Foundation Skills Course

Foundation Skills in Creative Therapeutic Practice with Children and Young People*

Service Description

The Centre for Creative Therapeutic Practice is now accepting bookings for the second cohort of participants wishing to join the Foundation Skills in Creative Therapeutic Practice course. This course is specifically tailored for adults who are working or who wish to work with children and young people. This course is also suitable for those who are curious about their own creative development and who wish to gain greater insight into how self-expression through art can support mental health and well-being. No previous training or qualification is required – just passion and curiosity about the role of creative therapeutic practice in well being. The course is also suitable for qualified Arts Therapists and Trainees. Foundation Skills offers a mixture of short theoretical lectures, experiential learning and group discussions. Topics will include: Children's Drawing Development, Neuroscience and Creativity, Developing Creativity to Support Well-being, Simple Sensory and Motor Techniques. Participants will be encouraged to complete 30-60 minutes self-directed creative processing between modules to enhance their learning. You will need a range of art materials (a list will be provided on sign up), plus a journal for your own personal creative journey. The course consists of 20 CPD hours, which includes 16 tutored hours plus 4 self-directed hours. *Endorsement from the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) pending. Cancellation Policy

The Centre for Creative Therapeutic Practice (TCCTP) Refund and Cancellation Guidance Policy and Conditions Joining information for all of TCCTP's courses will normally be sent 1-week prior to the start date - please check your junk & spam folders if you have not seen this information - contacting the office on the day or evening before the start date will not always be responded to prior to the course starting. All cancellations must be submitted in writing to hello@tcctp.org. Cancellations made one month or before will be refunded in full minus £10 administration fee. Less than one month but more than 14 days before the course will be charged at 50%. Less than 14 days' notice will be fully chargeable. Please Note • Programmes are subject to change. • It is the attendees responsibility to check their email including junk and spam folders for joining details. • There is a possibility that the course/event may be cancelled due to insufficient numbers, unforeseen circumstances, or force majeure. In the case of insufficient numbers or unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be offered. In the case of force majeure such as the Coronavirus pandemic, alternative dates will be offered. If these dates are not suitable, a partial refund will be offered taking into account cost of overheads • If TCCTP offer face-2-face training - Please do not book any travel or accommodation until you have received confirmation of your booking from TCCTP. We will not be liable for this cost in the event you are not booked onto the course/event. • Where fees for attendees are being paid by a third party (e.g. employer). TCCTP will endeavour to collect the course fee through invoicing. However, where the third party fails to make payment, the course attendee will remain liable for said fees if cancellation is not made on time within our terms (see cancellation our policy above).
