Course Description
Our Level 6 Diploma in Creative Therapeutic Practice for Children & Young People, accredited by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Awarding Body (CPCAB), is now open for enrolment. Acceptance onto the course is subject to a short Zoom interview. This Diploma is suitable for Arts Therapists, Counsellors, and practitioners from related fields who wish to develop their creative therapeutic practice skills and support the emotional well-being of children and young people (CYP). Delivered by our team of highly skilled and experienced therapist-educators, the course runs over 11 Saturdays, including one weekend. Year 1 focuses on theory, experiential learning, and creative self-reflection. Year 2 is practice-based, with a clinical field placement under the close supervision and mentoring of one of our expert clinical supervisors, included in the course fee. Our carefully curated curriculum covers: Working safely and ethically as a practitioner Principles of therapeutic language and practice Child development, attachment, and trauma Neuroscience and safeguarding Child mental health, suicidal ideation, and self-harm Neurodivergence and working with families Supporting children and young people in school settings By integrating theory, supervised practice, and self-reflection, learners will gain the tools to design safe, creative, and responsive Tier 2 interventions, enabling CYP to access early support before issues escalate and require more intensive services. Learners will demonstrate their knowledge and skills through a theoretical essay, written case study, presentation, and the development of a self-reflective creative portfolio, all of which will be formally assessed and examined. The time commitment includes 13 training days over 12 months and approximately 16 weeks of supervised placement, plus additional independent learning and personal study — totalling around 392 learning hours across the year. Upon successful completion, learners will be awarded a Level 6 Diploma in Creative Therapeutic Practice, delivered by the Centre for Creative Therapeutic Practice and accredited by CPCAB. Course Cost Self-funded: £4,345 Employer-funded: £4,895 A non-refundable 10% deposit is required to secure your place, and flexible payment plans are available over 12–15 months. We also offer a limited number of subsidised places for participants experiencing financial barriers, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cancellation Policy
The Centre for Creative Therapeutic Practice (TCCTP) Refund and Cancellation Guidance Policy and Conditions Joining information for all of TCCTP's courses will normally be sent 1-week prior to the start date - please check your junk & spam folders if you have not seen this information - contacting the office on the day or evening before the start date will not always be responded to prior to the course starting. All cancellations must be submitted in writing to hello@tcctp.org. Cancellations made one month or before will be refunded in full minus £10 administration fee. Less than one month but more than 14 days before the course will be charged at 50%. Less than 14 days' notice will be fully chargeable. Please Note • We require full payment by the date stated on your invoice (unless you have agreed a payment plan). If payment is not received you will be removed from the course list and will have to re-book. • Programmes are subject to change. • It is the attendees responsibility to check their email including junk and spam folders for joining details. • There is a possibility that the course/event may be cancelled due to insufficient numbers, unforeseen circumstances, or force majeure. In the case of insufficient numbers or unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be offered. In the case of force majeure such as the Coronavirus pandemic, alternative dates will be offered. If these dates are not suitable, a partial refund will be offered taking into account cost of overheads • If TCCTP offer face-2-face training - Please do not book any travel or accommodation until you have received confirmation of your booking from TCCTP. We will not be liable for this cost in the event you are not booked onto the course/event. • Where fees for attendees are being paid by a third party (e.g. employer). TCCTP will endeavour to collect the course fee through invoicing. However, where the third party fails to make payment, the course attendee will remain liable for said fees if cancellation is not made on time within our terms (see cancellation our policy above).
